Manufacturing Pharmacist or Formulation Development Pharmacist & so on. There is enormous scope for the competent Pharmacist with thorough knowledge, practical skill set, professional
ethics and human values imbibed in them irrespective of the domain or field of specialization. Identifying this need, we at Channabasweshwar Pharmacy College (Degree), Latur, equipped
students with professional ethics and values in addition to knowledge and practical skill set to
cater the need of whatever domain he or she joins after completion of the requisite study
program. I strongly believe that the practice of innovative teaching learning pedagogy, research
and innovation along with various courses on soft skill development and value education makes
the student not only a competent Pharmacist but also a very good citizen too and that’s what
exactly what we do at Channabasweshwar Pharmacy College (Degree), Latur.
The Channabasweshwar Pharmacy College (Degree), Latur, is established in the year 2010 and
offers two years full time diploma course in Pharmacy (D. Pharm.), four years full time degree
course in Pharmacy (B. Pharm); two years full time Post Graduate degree course in Pharmacy
(M. Pharm. in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance, Pharmacology, Pharm.
Chemistry, & Pharmaceutical Regulatory Affairs), six years full time course in Pharmacy
(Pharm. D.) and 3 years full time Pharm. D. (PB) course after completion of B. Pharm.
Channabasweshwar Pharmacy College (Degree), Latur, is recognized as an approved center for
the Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences by Swami Ramanand Tirth Marathwada University
(SRTMU), Nanded and is approved by Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi, Recognized by
Govt. of Maharashtra, Directorate of Technical Education, Mumbai (MS), Affiliated to SRTMU,
Nanded, Maharashtra, and Maharashtra State Board of Technical education (MSBTE), Mumbai.
The college is recognized under Section 2 (f) of the UGC Act, 1956 and is accredited by NAAC
with A Grade.
The motto of our college is, “Building Competent Pharmacy Professionals Equipped with
Knowledge, Practical Skill Set, Professional Ethics and Human Values”.

Dr. Avinash R. Tekade is graduated from RTM Nagpur University, Nagpur (1995), Completed
Post Graduation in Pharmaceutics from BITS PILANI (1999) and Ph.D. from KBC North
Maharashtra University, Jalgaon (2010). He has 28 years of total experience in academics and
research. He was Recognized PG Teacher and Ph.D. guide by Savitribai Phule Pune University,
Pune, Recognized PG Teacher by North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon and so far has
supervised 02 Ph.D., and 86 PG dissertations. He has published 47 research papers in peer
reviewed high impact journals, 20 research and review papers in national journals and presented
15 research papers in various national and international conferences (Cumulative impact factor
152.67, H Index 25, i10 index 38, and total citations 2780). He has presented one of his research
works in international conference at Pilau Pinang, Malaysia. He has filed 7 Indian patents (04 are
Awarded, 03 Published), authored one book on Pharmaceutical Engineering, one book chapter in
book published by Elsevier Publications, received grant of Rs. 28.7 lakh from AICTE, under
research promotion scheme (RPS), Rs. 16.7 Lakh from Rajiv Gandhi Science and Technology
Commission, Mumbai, Startup Grant of Rs. 3 Lakh from Ministry of Education, New Delhi, and
fetched infrastructural grant of Rs. 45 lakh from Department of Science and Technology,
Ministry of HRD, Government of India, New Delhi, under DST FIST program. He has been
awarded prestigious Prof. Man Mohan Sharma Science and Technology Award (Citation,
Trophy and Rs. 1 Lakh Cash) by Marathi Vidnyan Parishad, Mumbai, in recognition of his
outstanding research work. His areas of research interest are Nano-particulate drug delivery
system, CNS targeting through nasal route, Transdermal drug delivery system, Pulsatile drug
delivery system and solubility enhancement of poorly aqueous soluble drugs. He served as a
Member, Board of Studies at North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon and Swami Ramanand Tirth
Marathwada University, Nanded. Dr. Avinash R. Tekade is on the editorial board of American
Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, International Journal of Material Science and
Applications, Journal of Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology, Composite Materials Research
and Journal of Pharmacy Research and Clinical Pharmacy. He is ad-hoc reviewer for the reputed
journals like International Journal of Pharmaceutics (Elsevier), Journal of Molecular Liquids
(Elsevier), Journal of Drug Delivery Science and Technology (Elsevier), Drug Delivery
(Springer), AAPS PharmSciTech (Springer), Journal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology (Willey
Interscience), Journal of Microencapsulation (Informa Healthcare), Pharmaceutical Development
and Technology (Informa Healthcare), Expert Opinion on Drug Delivery (Informa Healthcare),

and Formulations (Bentham Science) etc. He has delivered many invited talks in AICTE/DST
sponsored faculty development programs and University sponsored state and national
conferences as well as delivered lectures for spreading the awareness about science education in
Marathi (Awareness about neurodegenerative diseases and its treatment). He is examiner/referee
for M. Pharm and Ph. D examination of various universities. He is a life member of Association
of Pharmaceutical teachers of India (APTI), and registered Pharmacist with Maharashtra State
Pharmacy Council (Reg.No.62725).
